Free 7 Mesh Plastic Canvas Pattern Pool Fishin’ Game
Supplies: 7 Mesh Colorful Canvas (various colors) (less than one piece per 3 fish) 4 Ply Yarn (up to 2 yards per fish) (any color) Overcast stitch used for joining cut pieces together Small Glass Decorative Stones (smooth round stones may also work)
From
2 to 4 kids per 12 fish (there
is no limit to the amount of fish made) If
making 12 fish, 4 sets of 4 different color canvas works best for game play (i.e.
blue, red, pink, and orange canvas) Each
set of fish should use the same color of yarn per set (multi-color
yarn works well also) Parents should inspect fish often, canvas can break and crack.
Game
Play Ideas: (Based
on 12 Fish, 4 sets of 3) 2 Children can throw them all in the pool and see who can get the most the fastest. 4
Children can pick a color, each throw someone else’s color in the pool, see who can get all of their color the fastest. Each
color could be assigned a point value (5,
10, 20) and whoever reaches say 100 points first wins (
point value can vary by choice).
Toss
the fish through a life preserver or circle floating toy, like basketball.

Sewing Instructions: Cut
2 pieces per fish (4 pieces per fish for strength using 2 pieces on each side) As
noted by orange threads on each fish start at one orange thread and sew around the nose of the fish to next orange thread insert rocks/gems then continue sewing
around the border being careful to keep the rocks/gems inside the fish. About 7 to 10 stones per fish, stones should not be squeezed in. Larger stones can be
used as shown in photo, 2 to 3 stones per fish. When only clear canvas is available use bright color yarn to whip stitch edges together.
